Access Statement for Littlebeck Warren

 

Introduction

Littlebeck Warren is a five bedroom guest house in the Western lake District. The property has been recently renovated to provide luxury accommodation for visitors to the local area.
We have one ground floor bedroom suitable for people with mobility difficulties.

Pre-Arrival

  • The west coast railway line has several local train stations - Whitehaven, WorkingtonLowca and Harrington all within a few miles. Workington and Whitehaven also have bus stations and the bus route between the two towns passes the end of the road here every half hour. Taxis are easily available in both towns

 

Car Parking and Arrival

  • We have a private car park for guests. It is at the front of the property. Turning in from Hayescastle Road there is a slope down to the parking area which is gravelled. The area around the house is level concrete.
  • There is a small step up into the porch which has double opening doors and it is mostly level access thereafter with some slopes

 

Welcome Area

  • The reception area is spacious, well lit and has a level oak floor.
  • A staircase rises from reception to the upstairs bedrooms and balcony.
  • level access from the reception area leads to the dining room, downstairs bedroom, sun lounge and bar

 

Bedrooms

  • Our downstairs bedroom has easy level access to facilities of the house.
  • It also has a wet room with walk in shower area and free standing bath.
  • The bed is super king size and the room spacious and light.
  • Two of the upstairs rooms have flexible accommodation with beds being able to be split from super king-size to twin.
  • All rooms have large powerful showers with high pressure hot water.
  • Four of our five rooms also have free standing baths.

  • Our downstairs bedroom has easy level access to facilities of the house.
  • It also has a wet room with walk in shower area and free standing bath
  • The bed is super king size and the room spacious and light.
  • Two of the upstairs rooms have flexible accommodation with beds being able to be split from super king-size to twin.
  • All rooms have large powerful showers with high pressure hot water.
  • Four of our five rooms also have free standing baths.

 

Public Areas - Halls, Stairs, Landings, Corridors

  • The hall and stairs are solid oak
  • The landing is carpeted with wool twist carpet
  • The dining room and sun lounge are carpeted  
  • The bar has a wood block floor
  • All areas are well lit

 

Public Areas - Lounge

  • The sun lounge has level access with a slight slope downwards along the hallway leading from the dining room
  • The exit from the sun lounge to the garden has two very large steps
  • There are two comfortable low sofas with a low coffee table and also a high table with two chairs (cafe/garden style)

 

Dining Room

  • The dining room is accessed directly from the reception hall via a slight slope
  • There are five tables each with two upright chairs.
  • Chairs do not have arms and are light weight.
  • There is ample space around the tables.
  • Breakfast is served to the table and also has a serving area to help your self to cereals, fruits, yoghurt, etc.
  • special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement

 

Garden

  • The garden has lawn and patio areas. There are a few steps and slopes between areas. Access is not easy because of the levels.

  • Free wi-fi is available throughout the property.
  • There is an automatic fire alarm and emergency lighting system throughout the property.
