The Lakes have plenty of water-related activities near Littlebeck Warren, from cruises in nearby Keswick to rides onboard heritage steamers at Ullswater – some of which are almost 150 years old – to walks by Crummock Water with spectacular views.
Convenient for Golf
Just a mile from Workington is the Workington golf club, designed by James Braid, which features 18 holes and scenic views of the Fells.
Theatre-goers have a choice of venue with the very local Rosehill Theatre hosting not just theatre productions but musicians and comedians including household names. There is also the Theatre by the Lake for those visiting Keswick.
Convenient for Cockermouth
Just down the A66, Cockermouth is one of Cumbria’s better known market towns. Aside from the beautiful setting along the River Cocker, Cockermouth is worth visiting for its cultural heritage. Wordsworth House is where William Wordsworth grew up and has been well preserved.
This area of the Western Lakes is also the driest part of Cumbria with less rainfall than the heart of the Lake District and benefits from the warmth of the Gulf Stream!
Convenient for St Bees
Just a few stops from Whitehaven is the popular beach resort of St Bees with its long sandy beaches and dramatic sandstone bluff “St Bees Head”. This is also the start of the Coast to Coast path.
